Bromham Ladies
For the first time in many years, we are able to hold our meeting in June - on 16th as we will be able to book the hall at the Hub. In keeping with the Carnival mood, Anna Mallett will be talking to us about "Fitsteps" which is a fun, energetic dance fitness program combining Ballroom and Latin steps, suitable for all ages and abilities.
For those wanting to try the steps I believe Anna will be putting on the music and we can try the basic steps. One lady in the class I attend joins in while sitting on a chair - so all abilities can participate.
For those wishing to have a "jig", please wear suitable footwear - trainers are fine.
Bromham Stitchers
Stitch and Chat. Creative sewing group.
If you would like to come along we meet every Tuesday afternoon.
Please contact Ann Hannah - amthannah42@gmail.com
Chair Yoga For All
Cathy’s Chair Yoga at the Hub
Please wear comfortable clothing and bring some water.
This is a gentle form of yoga suitable for all abilities and particularly beneficial for anyone who has limited mobility. It can also be a great way to take your yoga practice into the workplace to keep you mobile and to help reduce aches and pains. Sessions are open to anyone - this is the only mixed class that I offer so dads, mums, grannies, grandads, brothers, sisters, uncles and aunts, sons and daughters are all welcome.
Yoga stretches are done either sitting on an upright chair or standing and holding on to the back of the chair. Sometimes a scarf or cushion might be used as an additional aid.
The sessions start with breathing awareness, joint release (warm up), gentle stretches and a short relaxation to finish. Many postures will be repeated each week to give you confidence and build up the muscle memory to be able to practice between sessions if you wish to do so.
Chair Yoga can help promote mental and physical balance and a feeling of calm vitality. This could be the key to a stress free and healthy new you. Through its known effects on the neuroendocrine system yoga helps stabilise hormonal levels and creates new foundations for emotional stability in addition to physical benefits including improved blood circulation, postural alignment. muscle tone and balance. Practices are easy to follow and suitable for all ages, from beginners to the most experienced yoga practitioners. Recent research shows that anxiety and back pain respond well to simple yoga exercise programmes and as an experienced practitioner I am able to tailor these yoga practices to meet individual needs.
For women of all ages you might be interested in Well Woman Yoga either on a Monday evening 7.45pm-9.00pm or on a Friday morning from 9.15am-10.30am via Zoom or in person on a Tuesday morning 9.30am-10.45am or Wednesday evening 6.00pm-7.15pm - both in Bromham
Chair Yoga is also offered online via Zoom on a Friday morning at 11am so if you are unable to attend the in person class you can join us online instead.
I look forward to meeting you when you join the classes. If you have any questions before then, please email cathywelchyoga@gmail.com or text 07960 330131.
