National Lottery Funding

We are thrilled to announce that The National Lottery Community Fund has awarded a grant of £150,000 to Bromham Community Hub Charity to rebuild the village hall. This is the critical final piece of the funding needed, and thanks to The National Lottery Community Fund we have reached our target and are now able to sign the construction contract with Rigg Construction of Melksham.

Planning

Full planning permission has finally been granted on 2nd July 2024, for the build of Bromham Community Hub after tireless efforts from the team and wider volunteers. The full Decision Notice and Officer Report can be found here.

Lease

Lease negotiations have concluded, resulting in a signed lease of the land on which we will build Bromham Community Hub. The lease was signed by Bromham Parish Council and Bromham Community Hub.

Contractor

After months of hard work, taking into account the wishes and views of the village, Rebuild Committee, Parish Council, and many others, we commenced the public tender process, going out to four recommended contractors. Returns were received from the three that were able to meet our timeline of opening Bromham Community Hub in June 2025. This has now been narrowed down to one...

We are pleased to announce that Rigg Construction has been appointed as our preferred contractor! Contract negotiations to achieve the best possible price and efficiencies are ongoing, with both parties working towards the same goal. Due to the passing of time, we have been hit by inflation and rises in material costs, but work is underway to minimise this impact.

Fundraising

Further news is to come shortly on the estimated funding gap and the fundraising steps that will be taken to fill it. A National Lottery bid application will shortly be submitted.

An anonymous donor has pledged £10,000 to the rebuild fund, which is absolutely fantastic. We have also received a donation from a local businessman of £10,000 in plumbing supplies at cost to help kit out facilities in the new building. We couldn’t do it without such substantial support from the local community, and we are extremely grateful for these two very generous donations. Thank you!

We have also raised more funds in the last few weeks and have now narrowed the gap to £40K in our fundraising target. If you would like to help towards raising the remaining funds to reach our target please click here.
